Who we are
Tirion provides free EV battery health reports. We are the data controller for the personal data described on this page. You can reach us at enquiries@tirionpower.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, which your reports are linked to.
- The vehicle details you enter: make, model, battery variant, model year, date of first registration, mileage and, if you choose to add them, the VIN and registration plate.
- The battery readings you provide: state of health, charge data or cell deterioration figures, and how the reading was obtained.
- The reports we generate from those inputs.
- Technical logs, including IP addresses, used to secure and rate limit the service.
How we use it
- To generate your report and keep the same car’s checks together as a history. This is necessary to provide the service you request.
- To build anonymised, aggregated comparison statistics (averages, percentiles and sample counts) that every report is built on. We rely on our legitimate interest in operating a useful comparison pool.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse. We rely on our legitimate interest in protecting the service.
We do not use your data to advertise to you, and we do not sell your data.
What other people see
Other users only ever see anonymous aggregates; never your email, VIN or individual report. A report’s share link is different: anyone who has the link can view that full report, including the VIN, registration plate and mileage shown on it. Only share a report link where you are happy for those details to be seen.
Cookies and analytics
When you first visit we ask whether you accept analytics cookies, and nothing is set until you choose. If you accept, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. It sets cookies and processes usage data such as the pages you view, the site that referred you, your approximate location and your device type, and, only where you have allowed it in your own Google account, broad age, gender and interest categories. We use this in aggregate to improve the service; it never receives your report, VIN or email. Google acts as our processor and may process this data outside the UK. If you reject, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent. You can change your choice at any time from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
Who we share data with
Infrastructure providers that host the service, and if you accept analytics cookies - Google as our analytics provider, each processing data only on our instructions; plus authorities where the law requires it. Nobody else.
How long we keep it
Checks and reports are kept for as long as we operate the service, because vehicle histories and the comparison pool depend on past readings. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable format. Email enquiries@tirionpower.com and we will respond. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
